Feathered Photography Has Risen Again!

It’s been nine days of frustration but Feathered Photography is finally back.

I feel like I’ve been in a dogfight.  Or perhaps a harrier fight (like these two, duking it out over a dead duck).  For weeks writing a post has been a nightmare because of hosting issues with my old provider.  A post that would normally take about a half hour to do would often take two to three hours and it was aggravating in the extreme.  Multiple image posts were even more painful.   As my readers are well aware there were also problems on the other end, including slow load times, troubles commenting and blog down-time.

Hopefully that’s all behind us now but time will tell.

The perennial pessimist within me told me that there would likely be a few more hiccups down the road that would need to be dealt with and I’m seeing a couple of them already.  Hopefully they’ll be cleared up soon.

I’m glad to be back.

Ron

  3. Ron,

Welcome back! Don’t post many comments but constantly lurking and enjoying the shots. Keep up the great work!

  7. Glad to have your blog back again Ron… Its a great way to start my morning, had been missing it.

  8. Yay!

  9. One of my recent posts was entitled “Taken For Granted”. I’m afraid that’s what happened with posts from you and Mia. I took it for granted I would be able to enjoy outstanding photography, tips on how to improve my technique, continuing education in biology/ecology/ornithology and just plain communication from genuinely nice folks while enjoying my morning coffee.

Now the coffee will taste better.

    Happy you’re back!

  10. Good to see you back! I really look forward to your wonderful pictures and observations every day.

  11. Hey Ron,

  12. Hi Ron,
You have been greatly missed. I don’t always comment but let me tell you the first thing I do in the morning, when I turn my computer on, is to open your blog.
You bring happiness to me every day. Thank You
    Len

  13. I really can’t tell you all how much I appreciate the kind welcome back comments. I’ll admit to some apprehension about “out of sight, out of mind”… I enjoy this blogging “process”, the give and take and the friends I’ve met here, at least as much as many of you apparently do and I didn’t want to lose it.

  14. I’m really glad to see your blog up and running again. I have greatly missed seeing your posts. I hope that nothing else ugly rears its head here.

  15. Yes! Was getting concerned you needed back up Ron….I was ready to pack up and head out your way to lend a hand!
But as usual, you took care of business. 🙂 Welcome back my friend!

  16. So glad you are back online Ron. I miss your photographs and glad you have returned. I too have a new passion
for birds, especially raptors. It’s exciting for me to see your photographs of these glorious birds in the wild.
    Thank you

  17. Good to see your posts again.

  18. Glad that you are back. I just recently discovered your blog while searching for information on feather feeding by grebes. It was an excellent post with great photographs and just the information I was looking for. Will be visiting regularly now.

  19. I am so glad to see you back. I really missed you daily dose of beautiful photos. This photo is incredible! It is definitely a “WOW” photo! Thanks

  20. Oh my goodness, what a SPECTACULAR PHOTO!!!! Holy mackerel!!!!! Bloody brilliant!!!!

  21. Glad you are back. There is so much to like about this photo: the action, the setting (birds on ice), eye contact, sharpness of the image, the great contrast between dark and light areas on the wing (underside), etc. and I really like the nearby feathers floating next to chunks of ice (a feature I don’t remember seeing in any other photo).

  22. My mornings have not been the same without you. And, I love your harriers–I’ve witnessed a few of these dog fights and even one between a western gull and a harrier. In all cases, there have been so many tall grasses in front of them that they are all but blurs. So nice to see them with such clarity. Oh my gosh, I’m so happy you are back!

  23. I’m glad you’re back. I missed your delightful posts.

  24. Thank you for the warm welcome back, Mark, Susan, Paul and Diana. It feels good to be back at it and interacting with all of you again!

  25. Great action
There will be blood! Hope not with your providers though.

  26. Welcome back Ron!

So sorry to learn that it had been so troublesome for you, previously.

Hopefully things will be easier for you now.

    Cheers
    Paul
