I needed a stress reliever and this post is it. My stress level has been incredibly high for the last few days because of a serious medical scare and I don’t handle even routine stress well.
In the past I’ve discussed the many reasons why I prefer to photograph birds of any species in the few hours after sunrise so I won’t repeat myself here. But yesterday morning I was reminded of yet another reason that applies specifically to owls.
Short-eared Owls have been unusually difficult for me to come by this year so yesterday morning I was happy to catch this presumed male in flight with prey (a vole).
