Most readers know that recently I had to send my 500mm lens into Canon for repair. I truly feel lost without it and my separation anxiety has been pretty intense but the FedEx man brought me the cure yesterday afternoon at 1:15.
Bumps in the road come with the territory when you’re a bird photographer and blogger but that doesn’t make this pothole any easier to take.

I often see groups of harriers off in the distance but it’s rare for me to be close enough to photograph two different birds in such a short time span. And this time one of them was an adult male – the elusive “gray ghost”.
