Juvenile Swainson’s Hawk Landing Practice

Landing on relatively small elevated perches must be one of the more difficult skills young raptors must learn.

This is the injured young Swainson’s Hawk that I’ve mentioned in previous posts.

These two sibling juvenile Swainson’s Hawks were sorely lacking in patience as they waited for their parents to deliver voles to them.

Injured birds are always heart-wrenching and I like to help when I can but sometimes attempting to do so isn’t practical or even wise.
