Occasionally I like to post a collection of recent bird images – a potpourri of sorts. These are photos that I might not post as stand-alones but collectively they’re a pretty good representation of some of the species now present in northern Utah. Each of these images was taken over the past eleven days.
Some behaviors I witness in nature remain unexplained even after much thought and review of multiple images documenting them. Such was the case three days ago at a pond near my home.
American Coots are raucous and quarrelsome birds that can be counted on to stick their noses into everybody else’s business. That personality trait provides countless interesting opportunities for the photographer who’s prepared to take advantage of them.
