Feathered Photography Is About To Become An Early Bird Again

Just a quick post this afternoon to announce a change in the posting schedule of Feathered Photography.

Almost from the beginning I published my posts early in the morning and I did so for several years.  By nature I’m both a creature of habit and a morning person so I prefer to work up my images in the evening and then compose and publish my posts early the following morning.  From feedback I’ve received from readers I know that many of you also prefer a morning posting schedule – lots of folks thought my posts went well with their morning coffee…

But a few months ago, because of problems with my server (a long, frustrating and complicated story),  I was forced to alter my publishing schedule and begin posting in the late afternoon (my time).  I know that the change didn’t sit well with some of you and it didn’t with me either.

But now I’m happy to announce that we believe we have solved the server problems and I plan on going back to my old schedule, beginning tomorrow morning.

In honor of the momentous (for me) occasion I include this shot of a Bald Eagle as it was about to take off from its perch.  The image was taken this past May 30th in Montana’s Centennial Valley.  I chose this particular image because it was taken at 5:42 AM.  The eagle is definitely an “early bird” and so was I on the morning I took the shot.  I’d been up since about 4 AM.

This is what it often looks like up there that early in the morning.  This shot was taken right in front of my camping trailer at 4:47 AM.  As you can see, I have good reason to get up early.

I hope this scheduling change works well for you (though I realize that for some it won’t matter).

I enjoy your posts at any time of day, but it’s easier to make sure I see them when you post in the morning. I love starting my day with you and your bird friends.

  11. I’m not an early bird by any means, but I love to see the message in my inbox that your latest post is available when I finally do get up! Both eagle and sunrise are gorgeous, and though I know these are among the things I miss by not rising at the crack of dawn…well, that’s why I subscribe to your blog! Hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas Day, Ron.
