This is the male SEO that I had so much fun with at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
1/1000, f/5.6. ISO 800, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc
I like the flight posture and the background formed by the sagebrush flats at bottom and the shaded Centennial Mountains up top. As per usual I was fighting for light up there but despite that I still like the way this turned out.
Ron
stunning photography! I enjoyed every shot and every bird! the clarity of that lens is beautiful 🙂
Should be THE light. I mis-typed. 🙂
I must be blind, but I don’t see anything wrong with light. Another awesome photo, Ron. I love it. 🙂
Thanks Bob. I should have been more clear about the light problem. The issue was that it was so low because of cloud cover that I could only get 1/1000 shutter speed, even at ISO 800 and f/5.6. That shutter speed is marginal for these birds in flight and I don’t dare go higher than ISO 800 with my 7D because of excessive noise.
I like it too.
Thank you. In a stolen moment this brought a smile to my face and awe/jealousy as well. That is one incredible bird and an incredible shot as well.
Thank you Elephant’s Child. I hope you can steal lots of moments just for yourself in these difficult times for you.
